Bottom Plate
4 × Guide Pillar
From 2D drawing to controlled motion. Explore the mechanism, then follow the preparation, modeling and verification guides at your own pace.
Start with the four parts and their 2D dimensions. Then build the parts, add mates and check the motion.
The four guide pillars establish the guide axes while four bushes attached to the Top Plate maintain alignment. The moving plate is constrained against unwanted lateral translation and rotation while retaining the intended axial motion.

Three translations. Three rotations.
Tx · Ty · Rx · Ry · Rz = constrained
Here, z denotes the pillar axis. This is the intended kinematic state; the supplied binary files have not been solved or rebuilt on the website. Four guide pairs require compatible axes and careful mate selection to avoid redundant constraints.
Native SolidWorks files are provided so the feature tree, component structure and assembly relationships can be inspected directly.
DOWNLOAD SOLIDWORKS PACKAGEOne assembly and four part files, packaged unchanged under their original filenames. Extract them together before opening the assembly in SOLIDWORKS. This collection is not a verified Pack-and-Go export; assembly references have not been rebuilt here.
