Project management
A maintenance handover should close the open questions
A short structure for work status, evidence and the next decision.
A useful handover lets the next person understand the equipment state without guessing. Separate completed work from verified work and from work that still needs authorization or testing.
Five things to capture
- Asset and scope: what equipment and task does the record cover?
- Current condition: what is the equipment state, with the applicable status controls?
- Evidence: what was inspected, measured or tested, and against which requirement?
- Open items: what remains unresolved, who owns it and what is needed?
- Next decision: what permits progress or return to service?
This is a general communication framework, not a replacement for an employer's controlled records or procedures.
